Narrative

I began studying external martial arts in 1966 which continued through 1981. From 1982 to 1989 I studied Yang style T'ai Chi Ch'uan with Grandmaster T.T. Liang completing his system in that period. I maintained a close personal relationship with him until his death in 2002. In 1994 I studied the remaining three Chinese internal martial arts with Grandmaster Wai-lun Choi completing my studies in 2005. Since 1982 I have studied and taught a variety of qigong and meditation practices. In 1990 I joined Sifu Ray Hayward in teaching at Twin Cities T'ai Chi Ch'uan Studio in St. Paul, MN. We have taught hundreds of students young and old T'ai Chi, meditation, and other health and martial arts. In addition to my martial arts studies, I studied art and painting with master painter Richard Lack from 1985 to 1990 at his full-time Atelier. I maintain a studio in Minneapolis where I paint commissioned works and personal subjects that are rich in the subtleties of space, time, and light.
