Florencia Taccetti
Florencia Taccetti teaches Argentine Tango for University of Minnesota Dance. She brings a wealth of experience as a tango performer, social dancer and teacher, as well as extensive work as a contemporary dance performer to her teaching of Argentine Tango. Florencia works to develop the subtle communication between partners that is found through a dynamic interpretation of both roles in which partners find space to be active and passive, and is furthered when both partners develop their own sensuality and grace of movement. Florencia started tango in 1985 after her career as a contemporary dancer in Buenos Aires. She danced in the movie, “Tango Bar”. She has performed with Pablo Veron (Star of the film “The Tango Lesson”) Gustavo Naveira (“The Tango Lesson”) and the legendary Pepito Avellaneda. She began teaching tango in Europe in 1988 and has taught continuously in Buenos Aires. Since 1996, her teaching tours have included many cities in the US. In Minneapolis, she has been teaching regular classes at Four Seasons Dance Studio since 2000 and at the University of Minnesota Dance Program since 2002.
